Nationals Game

This weekend we got some free tickets to the Nationals baseball game...which were an upgrade from where we normally sit..the cheapest tickets--so we get there and the game is postponed because it was raining so on our way in an older couple that was leaving gave us their tickets for the night because they didn't want to wait around for the rain to pass...which they had season tickets that were like 29 rows behind the dugout..so 3 1/2 hours later with about 300 die hard fans the the game started...and we got to sit wherever we wanted--so we ended up 7 rows back--it was SO much fun...I felt like I was in fever pitch (love that movie) Oh ya...and on the way in we sold our other tickets for $20...so we pretty much got paid to go to the game. I posted a little video--they have a Presidential race during the game and it's so funny...so I just posted the end of it....

4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my very favorite holiday's...I just get so excited for it every year. And it's usually about a week long of pure excitement...I love singing the Patriotic songs in church on Sunday...and I love looking around and seeing flags everywhere. It's fun reading everyone's blogs that are from Rupert...and how excited people are to go back and spend the 4th there...or how sad they are that they can't be there...it really is a big deal. And this year I was feeling a little homesick for all of the Ruperts festivities...but I think it was worth missing this year--we got to celebrate it in the Nations capital...and it was AMAZING!!! We both had to work all day..and that was a huge bummer--we didnt get to have any kind of a BBQ--I did however get to see the most ghetto parade though...but the night made it all worth it. We went to DC for the fireworks show, we got there about an hour before it started--and every direction was packed with people...I don't know how many millions of people were there. They were shooting the fireworks up next to the Washington Monument...and they had the area around it blocked off until about 30 minutes before it started and we just kept walking up towards it untill we somehow ended up being about 50 feet in front of it--the fireworks were right above us and huge...the whole firework show was like the best grand finale...and then when it was time for the actual grand finale--there was so many you could barely see everything because there was so much smoke from them. It was just a neat experience to be there to spend such a special holiday with all of the patriotic Americans. I am SO thankful for the freedom we have and all of the men and women who leave their families to defend our rights.

Baseball games

One of our favorite summer activities is going to baseball games...they are just so much fun and relaxing. So this last weekend we finally had the oportunity to go to a game, it was the Baltimore Orioles against the Washington DC Nationals, since they are both of the teams that out here by us we each took a team--I went for the Nationals and Adam was going for the Orioles...nationals won :) It was the perfect day, the sun was out for a while--but then it was overcast which felt really good becuase it was hot and humid before that, and we also got to enjoy the good ol' baseball hotdogs.

BIRTHDAY PART 2

So Adam always jokes how he loves his birthday being first because he can see how good of presents I get him--so that way he has a bar set for how good of a present he has to get me...and he's really good at one upping me every year. I dont' know what it is but I just seem to have the hardest time shopping for him..I mean lets get serious last year I got him a paper shredder...boring. So this year I tried really hard and got him a lot of his favorite stuff...shoes, tv shows, hat..and whatever. And this year was one of my favorite birthdays--it was so much fun. He got me a really nice camera--which I've been wanting one for a long time, it's a nikon coolpix, and the picture below with the suitcase is what he wrapped it up in.

So both of us had most of the day off...he had to do an install that night. But it was such a fun day. We went the the Baltimore aquarium, and it was so cool. It was huge! They obviously had tons of different kinds of fish, they had a huge place for all of the different sharks, sting rays, a huge sea turtle, then they had a seperate place for Australia reptiles and fish and different kinds of birds, they had a really cool jelly fish exhibit--that had a ton of different kinds of jellyfish, we went to a 4-d show, which if your wondering because we didn't know what it is a 3-d show with extra phyical features like when a dolphin or a whale breath out of the holes it would spray water on you, or if it would show creepy things in the water that looked like snakes a plastic tube would whip your ankles a lot like they are swimming past you...bubbles when the animals were under water--so you couldn't tell if they were real or on the show. So that was really cool, and they we went to a dolphin show--and that was so much fun to watch, neither of us had ever been to a dolphin so before--so it was a good day to do it :)

After the aquarium we just walked around the harbor for a couple of hours--it was so pretty there and they have a ton to do. We were going to go to a baseball game that night to...but out of no where it started pouring rain...it was such a nice day before that too--and if anyone has experienced a rain storm back east--they are insane...it seriously is like someone is dumping a bucket of water over you--you are drenched from being out there for 30 seconds. So instead we went and did an install.

WASHINGTON DC

I love Washington DC!!! I just think it's one of the neatest, prettiest places! There is SO much to do and see there. We have gone there 3 out of the 5 Sunday's that we've been here (our only day off) we have gotten close to a couple thats here, Shaine and Alysa, that we always go with. We were able to go to a couple of the museums and were able to see the white house...and just sit and relax in the park across from the nation monument, and enjoy the weather because Sunday's seem the be the only nice day of the week--the rest of the week it rains here.
